Former TV presenter Sarah Cawood is aiming to raise awareness among mums of the long-term risks of C-sections.
The 43-year-old who is mum to Hunter (4) and Autumn (2), was rushed to hospital when she got sudden pains in her abdomen.
She tweeted:
“So my bowel tried to kill me on Friday. It got twisted round my C-section scar and killed itself and went septic.”
“However, I pulled through & I’m here 2 carry on annoying you all! Here I am 2day Just had horrid nose tube removed (sic).”

Spotted on The Metro, Dr. Carol Sakala, director of programs for Childbirth Connection has warned that the long-term risks of having a C-section have not been “communicated well to pregnant women and the general public.”
She explained:
“A caesarean section puts a woman at higher risk for future ectopic pregnancies, including a type known as ‘caesarean scar pregnancy’ that develops within the scar from a past C-section.
“Women who have had a caesarean are at increased risk for chronic pelvic pain and for bowel obstruction, and the tough adhesion tissue can complicate procedures that a woman may need in the future, such as gynecologic surgery.”
