We have said it once or twice before but there really is no sport quite as exciting as a good game of Hurling, and by the looks of this next picture, that’s exactly what was had yesterday at the Sixmilebridge grounds, Co. Clare.
Limerick took on Clare in a Waterford Crystal Cup quarter-final and this spectacular action shot was taken during the game.
Press 22 photographer, Tony Grehan, captured Clare’s Nicky O’Connell getting up close and personal with Limerick centre-back Cathal McNamara, as the pair went in for a high ball.

Luckily the player was wearing helmet and avoided injury, as the hurl almost bends around O’ Connell’s face.
The final score of the game: Clare 1-14 to 0-11 Limerick, with the banner county continuing through to a semi-final match with UCC.
