Only acceptable to play whilst on holidays or the wee hours of the morning at a wedding, La Bamba is cheesy gold. All it takes is the first few bars for the entire clientele of a pub to think they can all sing in perfect Spanish. They cannot. Trivia? The line you pretend you already know is “Yo no soy marinero, soy capitán”, which means “I am not a sailor, I am a captain”. Go forth captain, make your fellow dancers proud.
