The metropolis of the midlands (as those of us cool enough to hail from there know) is of course Mullingar (sorry Athlone), and this week, a restaurant there is celebrating one of the town’s most famous sons, Joe Dolan.
The showband legend would have turned 77 today and in memory of the Goodbye Venice Goodbye singer, Miller & Cook restaurant, located just across the road from the Joe Dolan statue, is giving away a free glass of Prosecco with every Joe Dolan pizza.
