Ireland is home to some of the best comedians in the world but we don’t like to tell them that too often.
Tonight, over at Dublin’s Woolshed, they celebrate one successful year of comedy and it promises to be one night not to be missed.
Tallaght man Al Porter fronts the weekly event; the country’s comedic rising star has graced our screens on television shows such Savage Eye, Republic of Telly and his dulcet tones are becoming a regular feature on 2FM’s Colm Hayes Show.
Helping to celebrate the Comedy Shed’s big birthday bash is the mastermind behind Savage Eye and Irish Pictorial Weekly David McSavage, Fr Ted and Moone Boy star Pat McDonell and comedy music duo Totally Wired.

Porter promises food and beer giveaways, spot prizes and has even forfeited his position of music master for the night to the former resident DJ.
Admission to the Comedy Shed’s 1st birthday is free and punters are urged to get down early to avoid disappointment. Kick off is around 8.30pm, we’ll be seeing you there!
To whet your appetite we’ll leave you with this clip starring Porter, McSavage and McDonell…
