Nine Things We’re Looking Forward To When We Get Older

We are honestly really looking forward to it...

Sue Murphy

That alarm goes off, you get up and go to work. Then you come and make dinner, but you are actually thinking about those retirement days. Here are nine things we are really looking forward to when you get older.

1. No more alarm clocks.

I will get up when I feel like it!

2. Really long walks.

None of this power walking rubbish, we can leave the house at any time. There is no rush. Then we will walk around and appreciate things we never appreciated before because we were in such a bloody rush then.

3. Enjoying the Sunday drive…every day of the week.

Why is everyone in such a rush? Just no! Take it easy.

4. Always having mints.

Let’s be fair, we all carry around mints in our bag but we don’t like to announce it to the world… “Here have a Mentos!” will be perfectly acceptable.

5. Free public transport.

Woohoo! We’re going on the train! Where are we going? Who cares?!

6. People can never say no to you.

Sure, put on the kettle there. Ah, put the kettle on for an old lady there. They will NEVER say no!

7. Knitting is acceptable.

Not that we don’t do any knitting now, but it will just be acceptable when we announce it to all of our friends and family… and then start selling tea cosies.

8. Having a rocking chair… and a blankie.

We also have both of these, but we will definitely be spending more time with them in the future.

9. Daytime TV

Hello Jerry Springer and Jeremy Kyle! We are going to be spending some serious quality time together. HE’S NOT THE FATHER? Kids these days, eh?
