We’ve all been there, out and about for the day but you don’t really want to be bothered by anyone. In fact, you just wanted to spend a bit of quality time with yourself but then it happens, you start talking about the weather and suddenly you’re getting some random person’s life story. Admit it, you just wanted the quiet time.
Here are the nine places this happens but you wish it never would.
1. Hairdressers.
Getting your hair done is pretty much one of the most relaxing events that can occur in your life. However, some people can live in fear of sitting in a chair and having a chat about the weather. Many love this, many refuse to get their hair cut in case this happens.
2. The Bus
I just want to sit here and listen to my music and not talk to anyone really. If you are over the age of 60, you may be exempt from the above.
3. The Elevator
Do not feel the need to talk to each other in this compressed space, just stand in awkward silence. Awkward silence is absolutely fine.

4. The Shops
You’re having a browse, happy that you’ve got a bit of spare time to yourself but then suddenly someone is chatting to you about “how bad the sizing is in this shop”. Prompt exit.
5. Random Restaurants/Cafes
It’s bad enough that we have to sit here on our own drinking our tea/coffee, we don’t need you drawing attention to the fact. We lied. We like sitting on our own.
6. Doctor’s Waiting Room
I could possibly keel over and die at any moment, but I am more than willing to talk about your medical issues.

7. In Queues
No, let’s just queue like they do in other countries. In silence… Yes, it is an awful day out.
8. Fitting Rooms
Well, I am half naked here so I’m not really keen to start a discussion about the store’s Autumn/Winter collection.
9. Toilets (except pub toilets)
If you are in a club, it’s 1.20am and you have had more than your fair share of drinks, then it is absolutely fine to start a conversation. Otherwise, let’s just stand here really awkwardly at the driers in silence.
