As part of the X Factor competition, all competitors must sing a duet with a famous singer who is often picked by their mentor. For Sam Bailey during the competition last year, it made the most sense for Nicole Scherzinger to sing her duet with her.
Sam and Nicole delivered a brilliant rendition of And I Am Telling You from the brilliant Dreamgirls, however all eyes were not on Sam Bailey as many argued they should have been.
Scherzy delivered one of the best performances of her lifetime, completely outshining Sam on stage.
Well, Sam has finally spoken about it, telling STV: “On the last note, [Scherzinger] was supposed to do a bit, me do a bit and then we do it together. I was waiting for my bit, and I was waiting and waiting… Nicole just held on to the note.
“Everyone was saying she totally overpowered it and stole my thunder. I hear what they’re saying, but I’d just won so I didn’t care.”
Good to know, because Nicole definitely owned this!
