Will Nick and Pharrell be joining Mariah on the American Idol judging panel?

Mariah Carey made history last week when she joined the judging panel of American Idol. The move officially made the diva the highest earning judge on reality television.

Let’s just say that word of Mariah’s massive pay check quickly spread and now? Now everyone wants to get on the panel…

The Irish Independent reports that both Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams are reportedly in talks to join the brand spanking new American Idol judging panel.

The panel itself has seen lots of changes in recent weeks – first Steven Tyler announced that he was leaving in order to focus on his music, then Jennifer Lopez left amid rumours that she was demanding more money to sit in the judge’s seat.

And if rumours are to be believed, Randy Jackson is giving up his judging duties in order to take on a “mentoring role” on the show.

But it’s all good, because there are two musicians who are, according to reports, very eager to get their backsides into the empty seats on the panel.

“Nick is pretty close to signing to be the Idol judge. They flew him in to L.A. last week for final meetings,” said a source, speaking to US Weekly.

Nick Jonas just finished a four-month stint on Broadway, and American Idol producers are believed to be interested in the teen sensation because they think he will help to draw a younger audience to the show.

Meanwhile Pharrell Williams, of N.E.R.D fame, is said to be busy negotiating the terms of his contract.

What do you think ladies? Would Nick and Pharrell make interesting judges or do you think there’s someone better for the job?
