A new survey has named Barcelona as Europe’s “coolest city”.
The research, conducted by Estrella Damn beer, found that Barcelona is the place to be with over 100 Irish people citing it as their favourite European city.
Barcelona took 36 per cent of the vote with London coming in at 18 per cent and Paris at 16 per cent.
When asked about the city’s top tourist attractions, 44 per cent named Sagrada Família as the top location to visit followed by Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona, at 16 per cent and Park Güell at 15 per cent.
53 per cent of those surveyed would like to go with their partner while 32 per cent wanted to go with a group of friends.
When asked what reminded them of the Spanish city, 51 per cent said street art and Gaudi, 15 per cent cited music, culture and nightlife and 13 per cent said FC Barcelona.
If you haven’t been to visit already, it sounds like Barca is a city you have to experience at least once, with people describing it as cool, alive and exciting.
