New Show Dubbed New Inbetweeners Only With Girls

Everyone loved the sex-obssessed, foul-mouthed antics of the boys on The Inbetweeners and now they are being swapped for a bunch of twenty-something girls. Excited? Of course we are!

The Inbetweeners is one of the standout comedies of recent years based around four teenage lads who want nothing more than beer and boobs but now it seems the girls are ready to give them a run for their money.

According to reports this week Channel 4 is launching a new show, Drifters, which has been dubbed the new Inbetweeners and focuses on a group of girls who are trying to find their way after university.

But it’s not all change as there will be a few familiar faces. The three main characters will be played by three of the actresses who appeared in The Inbetweeners Movie.

Lydia and Jessica will be combining forces again for the new programme.

Lydia Rose Bewley and Jessica Knappett played two of the girls that Will and co hooked up with on holiday while Lauren O’Rourke played Neil’s girlfriend in the flick.

Jessica actually wrote the series which revolves around friends Bunny, Meg and Laura who work at tedious jobs but with the hope and intention of finding out what they really want to do with their lives.

The girl who played Neil’s girlfriend in the film will also be in Drifters.

Iain Morris, who co-wrote The Inbetweeners and is the executive producer of Drifters expressed his enthusiasm about the new show: “We’re delighted to be involved with Jess’ sitcom. She is hysterically funny.”

While we’re always sceptical about new comedies, especially ones that are compared to such great ones, we reckon this one might be a keeper!
