Musician Paul Simon to Take Part in a Tribute to Seamus Heaney

The singer is to pay tribute to the world-renowned poet.

Paul Simon is to take part is a special tribute to the late Seamus Heaney.

The night that takes place in the National Concert Hall and is hosted by Poetry Ireland, as part of their One City One Book Festival.

“Paul Simon has been a longterm friend and admirer of Seamus Heaney and he took part in a tribute that was held in New York in November” said head of Poetry Ireland, Maureen Keneally, speaking on Morning Ireland.

“Through the offices of Paul Muldoon, another great friend of Seamus Heaney, we’ve managed to secure that Paul Simon will be with us on the night.”

Simon is just one of 22 who will be reading and reminiscing about the Nobel Laureate on the night, which includes President Michael D. Higgins and Paul Brady.

The event will take place in Dublin’s National Concert Hall on April 23th and will be broadcast on RTÉ Radio One on April 26th.
