Do all of your banking online
How many times have you given up your lunch break just to queue in the bank for an hour? We’ve all been there. Why not avoid the crowds (and some sneaky extra bank fees) by setting up an online banking account?
Online banking is fantastic because it means that all of your banking information is just a click away. You can pay bills, check your account balance and transfer money between accounts all from the comfort of your own sofa. It’s fantastic.
If you haven’t jumped on the online banking bandwagon yet, make 2013 the year you embrace technology and make the migration to banking online.

Buy a diary
Yes, we know it sounds very retro of us to suggest this but never underestimate the power of a good day planner. Treat yourself to a stylish new diary/Filofax for 2013 and make a promise that you’ll actually use it.
In this day and age, most us rely on our phones or our computers to give us daily reminders of all those things that need to get done, however, as we all know, technology can be unreliable sometimes. Get into the habit of writing down all those important appointments and those to-do lists that simply must get done.
Not only will keeping a diary help you to stay on top of everything that’s going on in your life, they’re also super-reliable. You’ll never get an internet connection error on a piece of stationary, that’s all we’re saying…

Say No
January can be a hard month to deal with. Chances are most of us have ended up spending a fortune over Christmas and during January, we’re all a bit broke. So what do you do when people keep asking you to go out or attend things that require you to spend money?
Now, we’re not saying that you should become a total recluse for the rest of the month or that you shouldn’t spend your money and enjoy yourself. But why not consider saying no to the events that you’re not particularly interested in attending (and the ones that you KNOW will cause you to spend money that you don’t really have)?s
Remember: your time is precious so it’s important for you to spend it in ways that make you happy. If someone is making demands on your time that you’re not comfortable with or if you know that you can’t afford to spend the money on a night out, simply say no. The world won’t end as a result, we promise.
