Cathy Donohue

Mother and photographer Jaime C. Moore was in need of creative inspiration when taking photos of her five year old daughter Emma.

All she could find was images of princesses and fairytales, so she decided her daughter needed some real women to look up to.

First up was Susan B. Anthony, a prominent American civil rights leader who played an important role introducng women’s right to vote in the United States.

Coco Chanel was a French fashion designer and founder of the Chanel brand.

Helen Keller was an American author, activist and lecturer. She was the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Amelia Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Jane Goodall is an anthropologist, primatologist and UN Messenger of Peace who has worked extensively on conservation and animal welfare issues.

Jaime also included an image of her daughter accompanied by the following caption, “Set aside the barbie dolls and the princesses for just a moment, and let’s show our girls the real women they can be.”
