Motorists are being warned to drive with extra care tonight and early tomorrow morning with more wintry conditions promised.
A status orange alert for snow and ice remains in place nationwide, particularly in the west, the midlands and other parts of Leinster.
Snow is expected in a lot of areas once more with up to 3cm predicted in some parts.
Motorists are being advised to take extra care while out on the roads tonight, and in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
“It will be another cold night with a mix of clear spells and more wintry showers, which will mainly affect northern areas, and will be well scattered elsewhere,” the forecast read, adding with “frost and icy patches developing.”
