Another competitive weekend of ladies football got underway over the last two days, with yet more surprises in store across all four divisions.

In Division One, Dublin suffered their second defeat in a row at the hands of Kerry, who ran out 3-11 to 2-8 winners at home.

Elsewhere, Mayo had five points to spare over Tyrone, 0-12 to 1-4, with skilful forward Cora Staunton hitting nine of her side’s twelve points.

Monaghan secured a comprehensive 1-19 to 2-0 victory over Laois – Cathriona McConnell notching 1-7 of her side’s final tally.

Cork had the advantage over Galway when they went head-to-head on Friday evening.

Donegal continued their dominance in Division 2, securing an emphatic 5-19 to 1-2 win over Kildare, while Cavan, who are also dominating proceedings, danced to a 9-22 to 1-3 win over Down.

Indeed, it was high-scoring across all games, with Armagh securing a 5-18 to 0-7 win over Clare.

The clash between near neighbours Meath and Westmeath was called off due to the weather.

In Division 3 meanwhile, Leitrim were impressive 4-11 to 0-3 winners over Longford, Waterford edged Tipperary 2-12 to 3-5, Roscommon sealed victory 2-9 to Sligo’s 1-7, while Wexford and Fermanagh had to share the spoils, with the game ending all square on 2-9 apiece.

In Division 4, Antrim had 11 points to spare over Derry, 2-15 to 2-4, Limerick goaled to glory, 5-6 to 2-2, while Offaly were sharp in front of the posts to secure a 2-16 to 1-1 win.
