Miss California goes viral for her response to a question at the Miss America pageant

And her response is brilliant.

Let’s cut her some slack, I’m sure it’s nerve-wracking.

During the Miss America pageant over the weekend, Miss California had to answer a question about inequality. Her response has gone viral because she stumbled to answer the question and took a few long pauses in order to do so.

Nigel Barker asked the question, “One of the biggest challenges facing the United States is social and economic inequality. How do we narrow the gap between the rich and poor?”

She took a deep breath and a pause and answered, “When it comes to social and economic equality I think that the rich and the poor need to stop being so segregated. I think there is a middle class. I think that the rich need to…”

At this point, she took another pause and closed her eyes after which she continued by saying, “I think that the rich need to be giving, and I think the poor need to work hard and I think that the middle class need to come together and find an in-between.”

Not one to let the internet get the better of her, she responded to everyone mocking her with a brilliant post on Instagram with the caption, “When you pray to God for the words to social economic inequality and his response is ”It’ll take longer than 30 seconds to answer that babe”.”
