There are so many films on TV on a weekly basis, we thought we would draw your attention to some of the better movies that you can check out from the comfort of your own home. Here are five of the best films that are on TV this week.
1. Your Sister’s Sister, Monday, March 10, TG4, 9.30pm
Iris (Emily Blunt) invites her friend Jack to stay in her cabin following the death of his brother. However, when Jack gets there he finds that Iris’ sister Hannah is already there. Although not a film that is going to change your life, Your Sister’s Sister is still a pretty interesting watch, particularly when everything begins to unravel.
2. Mission Impossible, Tuesday, March 11, E4, 9.45pm
The film that kicked off one of the most successful franchises of all time, Mission Impossible starring Tom Cruise was a re-working of the brilliant series but the film made it something more. Try to breathe during THAT particular scene.
3. Black Swan, Wednesday, March 12th, RTE One, 9.35pm
Arguably one of Darren Aronofsky’s best work, the brilliant Black Swan tells the story of a ballerina who slowly begins to lose her mind while in pursuit of the greatest dancing role of her career.
4. My Week with Marilyn, Thursday, March 13th, BBC2, 9pm
Although it didn’t exactly make the waves it was expected to make, My Week with Marilyn is still a pretty good look behind the scenes of the life of Marilyn Monroe. And Michelle Williams? Just adorable.
5. Blades of Glory, Friday, March 14th, BBC3, 9pm
It’s far funnier than it should have been, that’s for sure, but with a cast like that, there was no way that Blades of Glory could go wrong. Will Ferrell stars as an ice-skater who, along with his rival Jimmy (Jon Heder), gets banned from skating. The only way they can return, is if they skate together. Problem is, they hate each other.
