We heard Mariah was returning to the music scene, despite the whopping $18 million pay cheque she will earn for her work on American Idol, and now she’s offered us a little taster of what’s to come.
Mariah has premiered a teaser video for her new single, ‘Triumphant (Get ‘Em)’.
The track is the first single to be taken from the singer’s 14th studio album, which is due out in March 2013.
Mariah’s husband Nick Cannonmust have heard about our recent obsession with the ring as he directs the boxing-themed video, which stars Mariah and rappers Meek Mill and Rick Ross, who feature on the song.

Mariah’s manager and fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson praised Mariah’s new material: “Her idea with all her music is to get it out to her fans, and hopefully lift everyone’s spirits a little bit. It’s really about having it succeed, and people are hearing it.”

“The album is going to be one of the great Mariah Carey albums, with a lot of stuff that you’ve come to love about her over the years,” he said.
