If you didn’t have a Kleenex in your hand already, it’s the right time to get one.

Anniversaries are a special time for couples – a time to reminisce about all their times together, both good and bad and take the time to appreciate their other half in life.

Many couples celebrate by going down the traditional route, perhaps by going for a meal or away on holiday, or revisiting the places they met or got engaged. Regardless of how an anniversary is spent, it’s always refreshing to see couples going the distance as it inspires all us single people for the future.

One couple who were celebrating 10 years together is Carl Gilbertson and his wife Laura. Laura Gilbertson was diagnosed with the condition multiple sclerosis in her teenage years, and after’s the couple’s honeymoon 10 years ago, the disease left Laura in a wheelchair.

To celebrate the 10-year milestone, Carl brought in the help of the Liverpool Media Academy to honour his and his wife’s anniversary in style. The group of singers serenaded Laura in the busy city centre with Bruno Mar’s love song Just The Way You Are.

Posting to his Facebook page, Carl thanked his wife for the incredible years they spent together.

“At our wedding breakfast I said that ‘it is the greatest honour anybody could ever bestow upon me for you to take me as your husband and the most enduring privilege to be able to call you my wife’. It was never just a line for a speech it was how I felt and you spend every day re-enforcing it.

“Your strength, courage and dignity take my breath away and though most Saturday’s at kick off time you may not think it, you’re the only thing that really matters.
My babe, you’re amazing – just the way you are.”

The amazing flash mob didn’t leave a dry eye in the audience, and we can totally see why.
