As younger pups are often favoured over their older friends, Steve decided that it was time that older pups had that chance too and so he began taking in strays.

However, Steve also has a pig, ducks, chickens, cats and pigeons in his care and he documents their big happy family over on Instagram at @wolfgang2242 – otherwise known as the cutest social media account ever.

Steve spoke to The Chive about why he decided to focus on looking after older animals, explaining that: “You kind of know what you want out of life once you hit a certain age. These dogs know who they are, and it’s easy to develop a relationship with a person or pet who knows who they are.”

Go check Steve’s Insta out – guaranteed to improve your Tuesday ten million gazillion times.
