Food photography is an art in itself and since the advent of Instagram and #foodporn, we’ve all got a little obsessed with making our meals look camera-ready.
While we’d like to think that our filtered lasagne pics are pretty cool, this is hands-down the most impressive food photo we’ve ever seen… especially as it looks NOTHING like food.
According to This Is Collossal, the stunning image was created when Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant commissioned conceptual design studio Lernert & Sander to create a piece for a special documentary photography issue about food.
They decided to create this amazing photo, which features 98 unprocessed foods cut into extremely precise 2.5cm cubes and aligned on a staggered grid.
