He might be a fit Olympic gymnast, and we do mean that in every sense of the word, but Louis Smith has confessed that his Strictly Come Dancing training is more demanding than his Olympic Games training.
The champion, who has impressed with his performances on the ITV show so far, told BANG Showbiz: “It’s tough, it’s very, very tough. I find training for Strictly is harder than training for the Olympic games.”

Louis has put a few of his gymnastic moves into his dance routines already.
But he also said that his sporting background does allow him to put in a few unique moves: “Being a gymnast might not be an advantage, but it allows me to add in a few extra bits to the routine that perhaps normal people can’t do.”
Speaking to reporters at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards about the fact that he revealed that Sid Owen was leaving the competition hours before the results show was aired on Sunday, Louis said he didn’t get a scolding.

“I didn’t get into trouble, they kindly said, ‘Mistakes happen and it’s happened before in the past’… It was a mistake on my behalf and they said not to worry about it, but I certainly won’t let it happen again,” he explained.
We don’t know about you but Louis, and Nicky Byrne of course, have certainly brightened up our weekends. Roll on Saturday night!
