Over here, Louis Walsh may be something of a rock star when it comes to reality television talent shows, but apparently, in the States, not everyone actually knows who he is. Isn’t that right L.A Reid?
Louis was flown in to replace Simon Cowell on the US X-Factor when the music mogul was unable to judge a show, but the other judges on the panel admitted that they had no idea who he was. Eh…awkward, much?
At the start of the latest episode, L.A Reid was left looking very confused when fellow judge Britney Spears told him that Simon had arranged for a replacement to join them on the panel for that night’s show.
“I think this guy called Louis is going to be here,” Britney said.
“Who the hell is Louis?” responded Reid.
Louis was filling in for Simon, who couldn’t attend the show.
We imagine Louis wasn’t exactly thrilled at their initial reaction, but anyway, in a segment for the show Louis talks about his career (he brags about selling millions of records) and he states that when Simon Cowell needs an “opinion he can trust” he gives Louis a call.
The good news is that after a very shaky start (Louis, who?!) the rest of the US X-Factor judges admitted that they’d rather keep Louis as a permanent member than Simon.
Could a permanent move to the US be on the cards for Louis? We’re not sure, but hey, you never know…
