It was announced last Saturday that the singer would not be able to perform due to illness but there has been increasing speculation that Lucy has in fact quit the show and had simply refused to perform last week.
And, to add fuel to the fire, producers have revealed that the guitar playing gal has yet to attend rehearsals so far this week and was the only contestant who did not attend the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday night.
It has been widely reported that Lucy is unhappy that she is being forced to sing cover versions and also that she isn’t earning royalties from the original songs she has performed on the show so far.
If Lucy is eliminated, Ella will be Tulisa’s only act
In 2008, Diana ‘the claw’ Vickers set a precedent for the show when she was given an exemption from performing due to illness however, the show’s producers say they will be forced to eliminate Lucy if she cannot perform two weeks in a row.
Lucy, an avid Twitter user has yet to respond and interestingly her account has been idle for the last week. Call us cynical but it seems very convenient that all will be revealed on Saturday night’s show – we’re sure the show’s flailing ratings have nothing to do with it…
