Nobody likes their morning commute.
The cold, shuffle onto a bus or train, normally wedged to within an inch of your life and praying that you can tune out the realities of the morning with your headphones.
A Southern Rail driver, known only as Steve, has become a hit with morning travellers in London after starting a #timetunneltrain quiz.
Addressing passengers over the intercom, Steve is known to test passengers with a series of questions to guess the year. He’s also been known to sing on occasion.
It seems Steve has become somewhat of a commuter legend, with passengers taking to Twitter to thank the driver for brightening up his day:
@SouthernRailUK give this driver a raise! 9am #timetunneltrain to Victoria via Crystal Palace

@SouthernRailUK #timetunneltrain I have no idea what the answer is but throughly enjoyed the singing

Absolutely loving the #timetunneltrain quiz on the way to Victoria this morning. I’m thinking 1987?

Always a pleasure to find myself on @SouthernRailUK #timetunneltrain to work. “This train has no class. There are no fines, just friends.”

It seems Southern Rail aren’t taking Steve’s work for granted either, tweeting:
A huge thanks to our driver, Steve, the man behind the acclaimed #TimeTunnelTrain quiz. https://t.co/sgTpzyfijG pic.twitter.com/zl9XhaXwEe

Let’s just hope this starts a quizmaster trend. It’ll be one way to beat that traffic jam boredom.
