A Labrador dog is recovering after being left in a hot car for hours yesterday while his owner cooled off in a nearby waterpark. The dog was saved by a passerby who noticed he was panting and attempted to free him.

Xochitl Dalton spotted the dog locked inside a hot SUV outside a Wet’n’Wild SplashTown water park in Spring, Texas last Friday and alerted police. However, she also posted pictures to Facebook which encouraged several concerned dog lovers to get to the scene and help free the dog.

The dog’s owner was arrested and has been charged with animal cruelty. The Labrador is currently recovering from the incident.
