Katy Perry must be seriously raking in the doe from her music career because she is reported to have turned down a $20 million deal for a role on American Idol.
And yes, you did just read that right: $20 million!
The ‘Firework’ singer, who we reckon must be off her rocker, was offered the incredible deal to appear on the US talent show as a judge but has turned it down according to TMZ today.
Katy is reported to have said: ‘People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved and it’s not right for me yet.’
Doesn’t sound like much of an excuse but anyway, American Idol returns early next year and at the moment they have at least one confirmed judge in the form of Mariah Carey.

Mariah is the only judge to be confirmed for the next series of the talent show.
The ‘Heartbreaker’ songstress is going to be sitting on her lonesome a little while longer after Katy’s decision not to join her but with the likes of Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban also in the frame for a spot on the panel, she probably won’t have too long to wait.
Unless of course they’re also mad enough to turn down $20 million?
