It’s always a good idea to clean up your social media profiles every once in a while.

We don’t always have time to comb through our profiles and get rid of any drunken. negative or questionable wall posts, but if you’re job searching or have a pending friend request from your boss.

That’s where SimpleWash comes in… it’s a new app designed to make your profiles squeaky clean. It scans all the content on your Facebook profile, including comments by other people on your photos or posts, and Mashable have the down low on it.

The magic of technology detects keywords that might be associated with things you don’t want a potential employer seeing, like drugs, alcohol and profanities.

Once SimpleWash detects the “bold stuff”, you can browse the list, click on anything you want to remove.

Too much social media… where to start?

You can even delete anything you may have ever written about a company if you wish to apply to them. No point in applying for a position with Ryanair and them being able to read the profanities you wrote about them in the summer of 2010.
