We love a happy ending!

A dog who had become known as “the most overlooked in Europe” has finally found a home after being rejected by 14,000 potential owners.

Jed arrived at the Dogs Trust animal charity in 2007 when he was just a puppy and was forced to stay at the sanctuary for seven years as he could not find a home.

However, the dog has now found his happy ending after a couple spotted an appeal on the Internet and agreed to adopt him.

According to The Northern Echo, Ian Woodcock and Elizabeth Marsh from Whitby spent a day with Jed at the centre and took him home, where he “now enjoys long walks on the moors, a snooze by the fire and playing with his new collection of toys”.

“Jed is settling in really well and we absolutely adore him, he is always by my side and we already can’t imagine life without him. If dogs can have a sense of humour then Jed certainly has one,” said Mr Woodcock.

“He is already very attached to my wife and I and he likes to be with us all of the time. We are really looking forward to the future with Jed, after so long without a home we can’t wait to make 2015 as special as possible for him.”
