Thousands of people flock to Jamie Oliver’s restaurants every year, to taste and marvel at his exquisite food but many leave with more than they paid for!

The celebrity chef revealed that many of his customers have sticky fingers and steal souvenirs from the table and the bathrooms.

Speaking to Radio Times Jamie said that up to 30,000 customised linen napkins are stolen every month from his eateries and his customers have even stooped so low as to steal parts of the toilets.

“I have noticed things in this recession. Like people nicking the linen napkins from our restaurants.

“We now lose about 30,000 a month. And there’s another thing: every restaurant of mine has the old-fashioned Thomas Crapper toilets because I’ve always thought they look wicked.

Jamie has recently opened his Irish restaurant in Dundrum Town Centre

“But they’re really expensive and we’ve had to have the handles and flushers welded on because people were unscrewing them and nicking them.

“Honestly, some people were coming out for a meal and going home with half a toilet. Bonkers,” he said.

The chef recently opened a new restaurant in Dundrum Town Centre which has been well received.

The 30 Minute Meals genius appeared on Masterchef Australia last week, and confronted one of the contestants for stealing a napkin from his restaurant, but agreed to sign it anyway.

Jamie will return to Channel 4 next Monday with his new show 15 Minute Meals.
