Is This The Twitter Change We’ve All Been Waiting For?

This could get very interesting.

One of the greatest things about Twitter?

The ability to sum up your thoughts, feelings and witty banter in just 140 characters.

But if you often find yourself begrudging the restrictions set on your posts, prepare to be pretty excited by the latest update.

According to reports, the company are now preparing a new product that will allow for longer posts without using a third party app.

The longer posts will see a move away from Twitter’s traditional tie to short, concise messaging (and is sure to see some divide between die-hard users who’d rather avoid the Facebook style rants).

The latest development to the site comes just months after Twitter extended its character limit for Direct Messages. According to Recode, CEO Jack Dorsey is said to be open to the changes for the next generation of Twitter devotees.

Speaking about the new update, Recode report:

“People have been very precious at Twitter about what Twitter can be and how much it can be evolved.

“Having Jack come in and say it’s okay makes all the difference in the world.”

Once people don’t take this as an excuse to start a new ‘Dear Diary’ entry, it’s ok by us…

H/T Thanks to our brothers over at JOE.ie for this one.
