Irish Radio Presenter Tweets Snap of “Fan” Mail – And it’s Nasty…

One thing you need above all else to survive in the media industry? A thick skin and a sense of humour...

Rebecca McKnight

Fan mail – not all it’s cracked up to be.

At least that’s what we’re thinking after spotting this tweet from RTÉ presenter Paddy McKenna.

The Leitrim native is co-host of Weekenders on national station 2FM, alongside Ruth Scott, and we’ve always thought him quite the affable sort, really.

He’s not to all tastes though, judging by a snap he’s just tweeted of a postcard sent in to him at the RTÉ address.

“Fanmail bag bulging today”, said the presenter, “Thankfully I’ve got thick, lizardy skin.” Accompanying the tweet was this snap.

So, somewhere in Ireland right now is a man or woman who took the time to pen this thoughtful note…

“Mr. Paddy Mc Kenna,

You are the nearest thing to a lookalike under-nourished Argentenian Lizard, + you are a radio, TV, critic

God help uz”

[sic]

Here’s a snap of the man himself, who in addition to his media career is also a successful musician with Storyfold. As you can see – not at all lizard-like…
