Irish actor Simon Delaney is set to make his Hollywood breakthrough…

The Dublin man is to play Hollywood star Vince Vaughn’s brother in Starbuck, which is being described as one of the biggest comedy flicks to hit the US next year.

“I’ve come close to getting big roles before but finally I’ve landed something on a scale beyond my wildest dreams,” Simon Delaney told the Irish Independent today.

The film is a remake of a 2011 French Canadian film and film giants Studio Dreamworks are behind the big budget movie.

Vaughn plays a middle-aged man whose life is turned upside-down after he learns that he has fathered 533 children through sperm donation, all of whom want to meet their daddy.

Dubliner Delaney is set to hit Hollywood big… and we cannot wait to see him on the big screen!

Delaney landed the role by chance when he was in New York shooting a new film Can A Song Save Your Life by Bachelors Walk and Once director John Carney.

“I had a few days off and just turned up to meet the casting agent. I was amazed when I got a call yesterday to say I had the role.

“Amazed because I’m playing Vince’s brother, a New Yorker who works in the family meat-packing business. There’s nothing Irish about any of it,” he added.

We don’t mind Delaney!

The 40-year-old Irishman will travel to the US to begin shooting the new film at the beginning of October.

Major congratulations and a big best of luck from all of us…
