When we were young and foolish, we always thought that we knew best and that our mother wasn’t really clued in to what was happening. But they knew! Despite all those lies we told. Here are eleven lies we have all told our mother.
1. We’re just friends!
Sometimes we believed this one, sometimes we didn’t but we always told our mothers that there was nothing ever going on with that guy.
2. “Yes, I have definitely finished all of my homework”
Of course you haven’t, but you will pretend that you have just to get out the door.
3. “I swear that there will be parents there”
Of course there won’t be parents there!
4. “Don’t worry Mam, it’s a 15 cert”
Well actually, it’s banned in most countries.
5. “We’re all going to a sleep over”
We’re all going to try alcohol for the first time, but there is no way we are telling you.
6. “That wasn’t me”
It was you. It definitely wasn’t the other sibling that you blamed.
7. “I Was Using the Computer For A School Project”
I wasn’t looking at the sites you definitely did not want me looking at…
8. “Just five more minutes!”
I swear I will turn off the TV in just five more minutes.
9. “I was doing nothing”
Of course, you were doing something. You are always up to something.
10. “I’m going to wear that dress that you like”
I am definitely going to wear that mini-skirt that you hate.
11. “It will NEVER happen again”
Now, you’re just teasing me. This is totally going to happen again. I didn’t realise I could get this reaction.
