HOW Much Did Paul Mc Cartney get paid for the Olympic Opening Ceremony?!

It was watched by a global audience of over a billion people, but you'll never guess how much Paul Mc Cartney got paid to perform at the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

At this rate, we might give him a call ourselves…

He’s a living legend, and a former member of one of the greatest bands the world has ever seen… so what kind of pay packet does it take for Paul Mc Cartney to play in front of an audience of over a billion people?

One pound.

No, seriously.

The Huffington Post are reporting this morning that The Beatles legend was essentially donating his time for free, but a nominal fee had to be paid to make the contracts binding.

Singer Emile Sandé and rapper Dizzee Rascal are thought to have received the same, and forever more they can say they demand the same fee as a Beatle. Nice.

Bonkers: Dizzee Rascal performs for a pound…

The spectacular opening ceremony, masterminded by director Danny Boyle cost an incredible £27 million to stage, but at least one performer participated only for the love of the games, and as the man himself might have said; Can’t Buy Me Love.
