When it comes to skirts, how high or low do you go in terms of your hemline? We’re asking because a picture commenting on skirt lengths has gone viral online and become something of a hit.

A student from Vancouver has been making waves on the internet with a photograph she took for one of her classes.

The picture, entitled “Judgements,” shows a woman’s leg with various words written on it, depiciting stereotypes when it comes to how women choose to dress. Check it out:

Rosea’s picture has been causing a lot of debate online

Despite only being online for a short time, the picture has already been re-blogged on photo-sharing website Tumblr.com more than 300,000 times.

“[I wanted to] take the idea of impersonal, supposedly objective measurement of things and put it on something that we do measure, but don’t talk about,” said 18-year-old Rosea Lake, the photographer.

“We measure women the same way we measure water cylinders, but no-one says it because it’s mean,” she added.

Rosea decided to share her picture online after the photo project made her think about her own judgements with regards to other women.

“Working on this project really made me examine my own opinions, preconceptions and prejudices about ‘slutty’ women and women who choose to cover their skin alike,” she said.

There’s no denying that it’s definitely a thought-provoking image. What do you think?
