Haven’t We Seen You Somewhere Before? You Look Awfully Familiar.

Some of our favourite television personalities have returned to the small screen recently. Here are the comebacks we like the best.

Rebecca McKnight

Do you ever get that feeling when you’ve been watching a television programme that you’ve seen that person before?

Well chances are you have. Actors and actresses are constantly swapping shows sometimes taking a break from the small screen for years.

But we have to say we’ve been more than happy to welcome them back and to show it, we’re giving a shout out to our favourite television comebacks of recent years…

1. Teri Hatcher

We were beginning to think she had fallen off the face of the planet after Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman finished. That was until Desperate Housewives appeared on our screens back in 2004. Oh how we miss it… good think we have the box set!

2. James Van Der Beek

He stole ours and Joey’s hearts back during the days of Dawson’s Creek and has recently returned to the small screen in critically-acclaimed comedy Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23. All these years later, he still has that killer smile.

3. Sarah Michelle Gellar

Back in the day Sarah Michelle Gellar used to kick vampire and monster butt in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There wasn’t a girl who didn’t want to be in her shoes. Her new show Ringer is definitely worth a watch too despite not being renewed for a second season.

4. Dominic West

Making his name as Irish womaniser cop McNulty in The Wire, Dominic West was hot property. And when we say hot, we mean hot! Now he’s returned to the small screen in BBC series The Hour about a group of reporters in the 1950s and yes, he’s still rather hot.

5. Calista Flockhart

Show us a woman who didn’t love Ally McBeal and we’ll show you a liar. It had it all; courtroom drama, karaoke and Robert Downey Junior. Anyway, Calista Flockhart came back with the brilliant Brothers and Sisters drama. If you missed it, watch it now.

6. Matt LeBlanc

We all fell in love with him as dumb yet cute Joey on Friends but Matt LeBlanc is making a name for himself now on Office-style comedy Episodes. It’s very different to what he’s done before but we think it’s equally brilliant.

7. Courteney Cox

Speaking of Friends, Courteney Cox has struck gold with her show Cougar Town. Not only does she act in it but she works behind the camera as well proving that she’s much more than a pretty face.

8. Jared Padalecki

When he was in Gilmore Girls it felt sort of wrong to have a crush on Jared Padalecki but when he was in Supernatural, it felt wrong not to have a crush on him! If ghosts and ghouls are you’re bag, watch this.

9. Alyson Hannigan

The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star has certainly proved her worth as a comedic actress with the American Pie film series and How I Met Your Mother. We can’t get enough of this show and yes it does help that Jason Segel co-stars.

10. Joe Thomas

So he’s not our favourite of The Inbetweeners gang but we still tuned in to see what his new show Fresh Meat was all about. And much to our surprise it wasn’t half bad. We’re patiently waiting for the second series.

More often than not those that find fame with one television series fail to have success with the next. But we have to admit we’re really glad these lucky stars broke the mould!
