Over the years, The Simpsons have made us giggle, laugh out loud and sometimes even cry. From the best characters to the best quotes, there really have been some standout moments over the years… in fact, there’s been at least 25 of them!
Here’s some of our highlights.

Lisa’s Birthday Song
One of our favourite birthday songs still (we bet you’re now humming it in your head).

Who needs the Kwik-E-Mart?
We all thought Apu was going to have to leave and this song struck a chord with all fans.

Who shot Mr. Burns?
The whodunnit ran over two episodes and had viewers following a trail of clues.

Bart’s Evil Twin
Bart’s evil twin ruled Springfield for a long time and almost had everybody fooled.

Sideshow Bob
You can’t talk about Bart without talking of his arch-nemesis Sideshow Bob. The very reason the 12-week straightening treatment exists.

Lisa turns vegetarian
Poor old Lisa gets tormented by the cute little animals.

Any episode with the Duff Man
Oooh.. yeh! We love the Duff man, that song fits him perfectly.

Bart vs Australia
Another favourite is when Bart is punished in Australia by having to get kicked up the backside with a giant boot.

The new drink
When we got introduced to Flamin’ Moes…and the fun we had making our own version at home.

The Monorail
Written by Conan O’Brien this episode is full of song and cheer as the town are duped into building a monorail.

Selma and Troy McClure
Selma finally finds “love” in the form of Troy.. but will it last?

Homer resists temptation
Homer had a tough time dealing with the arrival of a new employee to the plant especially when he found out she had so much in common with him.

The Stonecutters
Who could forget the secret society of the Stonecutters – amazing.

Homer hearts sugar
Homer and Bart come across a spilled sugar truck and the results are hilarious.

Homer and Herb
Homer meets his half brother Herb… but Homer of course manages to mess it all up.

Lisa and Bleeding Gums Murphy
An episode that will bring a bit of a tear to your eye.

Treehouse of Horrors
We love all of the Treehouse of Horrors episodes so much that we’d need an entirely separate list for them.

Deep Space Homer
Homer in space? Genius.
.
Itchy and Scratchy
Our favourite cartoon within a cartoon.

Mr Plow
Homer decides to become the Mr Plow of the street – with some unusual consequences.

Rosebud
This episode sees Mr Burns searching for his childhood bear Bobo, which Maggie tries to claim as her own.

Spider pig!
Who could forget spider pig! And there’s a song too… amazing!

He dances too!
Not only was he the superb representative of law enforcement in Springfield but Chief Wiggum falling over with his little feet kicking is still one of our favourite images.. and he dances too!

Howdy neighbour!
No Simpsons list would be complete without Flanders. From opening a left-hand shop, to buffing up on stage, to driving Homer absolutely demented, The Simpsons just would not be the same without him.

And finally…
One of the main highlights of the show is the ever-changing credits. From what Bart will write on the blackboard to what will happen during the couch scene, The Simpsons always kept us guessing. (And yes, we are still singing “Lisa it’s your birthday” you are not alone.)
