Guys are turning the tables on their girlfriends by taking their hoodies and not returning them

"I've lost too many great sweatshirts in my short time on this earth, it's time to fight back."

The battle of the sexes just stepped up a gear.

#TakeHerHoodie is an online campaign that has gone viral over the last few days, started by a 21-year-old student from Texas named Godswill Moufhe.

The arrival of the chilly “hoodie season” has motivated him into action because, as Godswill explained to BuzzFeed, “typically the girlfriend will take the man’s hoodie in the relationship when they’re cold and this reminded me of when a girl took my hoodie and never gave it back, so I said, ‘It’s time to fight back’.”

And his call to action has struck a cord with other hoodie-deprived fellas out there: his initial tweet on Thursday – showing him wearing four of his girlfriend’s tops – has since been RT’d over 39,000 times.

In an interview with Indy100, Godswill added:

“This movement allows men and women to equally exchange hoodies on an even playing field.

Also, the hashtag pushes the envelope for toxic masculinity. It’s funny to see men wearing their girlfriend’s clothes and not being seen as less of a man.”

This apparently common relationship fault line has been exposed and there’s no going back.
