This weekend is a defining moment for the Irish women’s rugby team as they prepare to battle for pride, honour and glory in Scotland this coming Sunday.
After securing an emphatic win over Wales last weekend on a final scoreline of 20-0 the women in green are now in line to secure the Triple Crown and a possible 6 Nations title.
They will know exactly what will be needed of them as the other crucial game between England and France will have already played off in Twickenham on Saturday night.
Head coach Tom Tierney has named an unchanged side from last Sunday’s victory in Wales and the day will see captain Niamh Briggs earn her 50th cap.
“It’s been a huge three months, a lot of change and getting to know people and new ways of doing things on the field,” said Tierney.
“Thankfully the quality of the players has shone through in the results and fingers crossed Scotland will be another win.
Best of all about this upcoming battle is that it will be screened live on RTÉ 2 on Sunday, with coverage starting from 12.45pm ahead of the 1pm kick-off.
Former Irish captain Fiona Coghlan will be on hand for commentary along with Ryle Nugent so make sure you tune in to witness the culmination of a championship that has been brought right down to the wire.
