Galway to set up a fanzone for Ireland V France on Sunday

The atmosphere will be unreal.

Wooooohoo.

Yesterday, it was announced that Sunday’s all-important clash between Ireland and France would be screened in Croke Park ahead of the other matches set to take place in the stadium that day.

This news was met with delight by many fans and now it’s been announced that Galway is to get its very own fan zone.

Spotted on JOE.ie, the designated area is being set up in conjunction with the Rocks the Docks festival which takes place from today (24th June) until Sunday 26th.

If you’re in the city this weekend, (as a Galway native, I’m starting to wish I was), this is definitely something to consider as the line-up is pretty great.

The Riptide Movement (pictured above) are set to take the stage this evening, The Strypes follow tomorrow and on Sunday it’s all about the BIG game.

With a food village, gourmet street food vendors, a full bar and a cool venue, the atmosphere is sure to be incredible.

Wednesday’s game left the country, including president Micheal D Higgins, in a state of elation and everyone is pumped for Sunday.

The only thing now is to hope and pray it doesn’t rain as everyone knows, Galway is renowned for its bad weather.
