We would have thought that Michelle Obama would have had everything she ever wanted but it seems that she had to pull a few strings to get her hands on the latest series of Downton Abbey.
The First Lady, who is apparently a huge fan of the period drama, couldn’t wait until the New Year to see the third series so she asked ITV bosses to send it over to her.
Michelle and Barack Obama are both said to like the award-winning show.
And of course, seeing as she is married to the President of the United States who also enjoys the show, they obliged.
So now, after that tiring campaign trail and ahead of the official US launch date in January, the Obamas can sit down and watch a few episodes of Dame Maggie Smith and co.
Now that the campaign is over, it’s time for an episode of Downton Abbey.
Speaking about it, an ITV source said: “We’d heard the Obamas liked to watch it but we were very surprised when someone from the First Lady’s office got in touch.
“They were very polite and we were more than happy to sort out some DVDs for them to send over. Obviously we hope they keep the spoilers to themselves as our US fans may not know about… Well, you know what!”
For some reason we think this couple will be able to keep it under wraps!
