Galway man Jamie Kelly has been reunited with Canadian native Katie Moreau after launching a social media campaign to find her after they briefly met on a Ryanair flight.
Jamie and Katie started talking when they sat together on a flight from Barcelona to Dublin last week but were separated at customs. Jamie then went to the bathroom and couldn’t find Katie on his return.
However, he wasn’t giving up without a fight and together with his friends, Jamie made it his mission to track Katie down. Needless to say, Katie’s sister was then pretty surprised to see Jamie on CBS News urging Katie to contact him.
Really hoping things work out for @theoriginalgoup #Jamie #loveatfirstflight #findkatie Love will find a way xxx

Is your name Katie? Are you from Nova Scotia? Are you travelling around Ireland? Did you recently meet a young lad called Jamie? #findkatie

This morning, the Jamie and Katie story came to a happy conclusion when they spoke on Today FM’s Ray Darcy Show to explain what happened. They are meeting up later this week, according to the Irish Mirror.
“I was obviously very surprised and flattered,” Katie wrote in an email to CBC News.
“When I was on the plane I talked to him incessantly because I had just been travelling for two months in Italy and Spain and it was just so nice to be around English speaking people, plus I’m a talker. We had lots in common plus he was very easy on the eyes”.
