“Find The Man Who Saved My Life” Woman Injured In Car Crash Makes An Appeal To Ray D’Arcy Show To Find The Man Who Saved Her

We need to find this guy!

Sue Murphy

The letter below is from Susan O’Connor from Kilcock to the Ray D’Arcy Show. The woman in question was severely injured in a car crash and almost lost her life, but was pulled from the car in which she was trapped by her cousin and a mystery man.

After Susan left hospital, she began a search to find the man who had saved her life. She sent this letter to Ray D’Arcy to appeal to the show to help her find her hero…

“My name is Susan O Connor. I live in Kilcock, co Kildare. I am 38 year old wife and mother to two grown-up daughters.

On Thursday 3rd October 2013 at 6.35pm I was involved in a serious head-on car crash on the Kilcock/Enfield road.

As a result my car instantly caught fire right in front of my eyes and I was trapped, unable to move with terrible pain and multiple injuries. I tried to open my door but realised it was jammed.

I heard a voice and realised it was my cousin, Linda Connolly, who happened to be driving behind the man that crashed into me and saw it. At this stage she did not realise it was me.

I tried to open my door but realised it was jammed.

I called out to Linda, my voice was weak.  She came over to my car with a “Man”. They both climbed into the back of my burning car, I told them that my legs were broken and that I couldn’t move.

The Man looked at me and said “we have 2 minutes to get you out of this car”.

Something in me thought to start winding down the passenger seat window. The Man took over and wound it down fully. There was now room and they put an arm each under my arms and pulled me out through the back of my car.

We got out just in time and I will never forget the intense heat on our backs from my car.

Linda and this Man supported me for 25 minutes while we waited for the ambulance to arrive.

Linda kept talking to me and kept me conscious: she was amazing.

I knew I was bleeding internally as I could feel a warm fluid build up in my stomach and was in excruciating pain.

I thought I was going to die, I was fading at this stage.

I spent a week in Intensive Care Unit, had a life saving operation on my stomach. Also 2 further surgeries to insert plates and a IM Rod on my legs and collar bone.  I spent over 4 weeks in hospital and am having ongoing treatment.

I am currently still in a wheelchair

On 3rd October my Life was saved by my cousin and this “Man”.

We do not have any details about this man I would really like to find out who he is and to let him know how grateful I am, I would really appreciate your help.

Kind regards

Susan O Connor”
