Final Encore? X Factor Ratings Continue to Drop As Viewers Choose Strictly Instead

Is X Factor on its last legs? Hmm it could be according to reports today which state that viewers are more interested in watching Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC instead. Okay, who wants to break the news to Louis Walsh?

Ladies, let’s talk about the X Factor. Are you following it this year? Do you think it’s amazing/crap? We’re just asking because this series has been getting a lot of mixed reviews and, well, it isn’t exactly pushing up the ratings.

However, despite the fact that the reality TV talent show is losing more and more viewers to the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing every week, there’s still one person who is blindly optimistic that X Factor will have a major comeback. (We’ll give you one guess who that is…)

Yes, Louis Walsh is insisting that despite losing viewers to Strictly, X Factor is still a “phenomenon” and that it has turned TV3 into “Ireland’s number one channel” every single weekend.

“It’s been nine years and X Factor is still a TV phenomenon,” said Louis, speaking recently.

“Last weekend was probably the first time the BBC might have edged ahead but it’s still not by a huge margin and X Factor will comeback and steamroll the opposition again. It always does,” he added.

Do you think X Factor will last for another season once this series is finished?

Louis also revealed that he’s delighted that X Factor continues to do so well in Ireland despite the fact that there isn’t an Irish contestant for viewers to support this year.

“It’s wiping the opposition on RTE!” Louis concluded.

We admire your positivity Louis! And we hope that the ratings pick up soon for the sake of this years’ contestants.

So ladies, do you have an X Factor favourite yet? Who would you like to see win?
