An anonymous individual has decided he has had enough of the clamping around the city and is now taken to the streets to solve the problem. You could almost consider him the clamping fairy.
Robin Hood, who spoke to Newstalk radio, had enough when he was clamped for a second occasion resulting in a release fee which would have set him back €80. Robin took to the internet to research methods on how to pick a clamp lock and then bought himself the tools.
If you spot this guy around, it might be our clamping fairy…
Since this incident, Robin has removed about four clamps from his car and following their removal, just drops the clamp back to the depot. Apparently, he has never met with any questions when he returns the clamp.
However, Robin Hood does have a conscience and insists only helping out those whose parking was up for a couple of minutes. “It wouldn’t be right to help out someone who is wrongfully parked in a disabled parking space. It has to be genuine.”
We think he should set up an emergency number…
