Fashion, Foundations and Fool’s Gold: The Best of Tonight’s TV

Need to re-charge your batteries half way through the week. Well there's no better way than having a night in front of the telly.

Rebecca McKnight

Whether you want to see a cat knock over an urn, a gardai wearing terrible clothes or a topless Matthew McConaughey, your sofa is the place to be this evening.

Meet the Parents – BBC3 (7.20pm)

Whether you’ve seen this comedy already or not, it’s definitely worth a watch this evening. Greg (Ben Stiller) meets his girlfriend’s parents for the first time but unbeknownst to him, her father Jack (Robert DeNiro) is a retired CIA agent. Stiller is hilarious as always.

Off the Rails –  RTÉ One (8:30pm)

In the first episode of the new series, Brendan and Sonya take a look at a gardai’s fashion crimes. As if that’s not reason enough to watch, The O.C. actress Mischa Barton spills all on the items she just can’t live without.

Grand Designs – Channel 4 (9:00pm)

Tonight Kevin McCloud talks to a couple who want to build a modern, cutting-edge home beside the River Thames. The only problem is that there are a couple of things that stand in their way, that is the river itself and their neighbours who all have traditional homes.

Fool’s Gold – RTÉ One (9:35pm)

It’s certainly a night for films as this romantic comedy, starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, is also one to watch. So the plot might not be very realistic (it’s about a couple who, having gone their separate ways, join forces to find a treasure) but hey, it’s Matthew McConaghey in a romantic comedy. What more could you want?

Thelma’s Gypsy Girls – More4 (10:00pm)

Thelma’s girls have to design their own dresses in the last of the series tonight for a catwalk show in front of their nearest and dearest. Expect eye-catching colours and flamboyant designs. We love it!
