Fantastic Drama, Fresh Meat and a Five-Metre Tall Flake: The Best of Tonight’s TV

A huge 99 Flake - do you really need more of a reason to turn on the telly tonight?

We have two comedies to start and finish the evening but you won’t want to miss what comes in between either…

New Girl – RTÉ Two (8.30pm)

On tonight’s episode, Jess randomly decides to be a handsome stranger’s date while Nick believes that an old man at the bar is a version of himself sent back in time and Schmidt tries to seduce Winston’s sister.

Layer Cake – Film4 (9.00pm)

Daniel Craig plays a drug dealer who is roped into a job just as he is about to start a new life for himself. As well as finding the daughter of a gangster, he also has to locate an Ecstasy shipment. Sienna Miller and Colm Meaney co-star.

Heston’s Fantastical Food – Channel 4 (9.00pm)

This week, Heston Blumenthal tries to revive the ice-cream van tradition and create the world’s biggest 99 Flake. Coming in at five metres tall and weighing over a ton, that is a serious amount of chocolate!

Homeland – RTÉ Two (9.00pm)

Carrie and co are fighting hard to regain control of the situation. Meanwhile Saul visits Aileen Morgan in the hope of extracting important intelligence and Dana urges Finn to tell the truth about the hit-and-run.

Fresh Meat – Channel 4 (10.00pm)

This evening Kingsley and JP’s friendship is put to the test during a field trip, Josie decides not to tell anyone that she has been thrown off her course, Vod’s future is under threat and Oregon develops a soft spot for Dylan. A must-see episode.
