Facebook is about to get even more fans this week after it was announced that a new option will be introduced on our timelines that will come in handy when you have broken up with someone.

In other words, the next time you find yourself relegating your other half to the ex-files, Facebook will give you the option of limiting any contact, communications or sightings of the person on your Facebook feed.

That’s if you don’t want to delete them altogether of course.

The new “take a break tools” will become an option to users when they go in to change their relationship status.

Basically, if you have named your other half in your status and then you break up, when you go in to change your status Facebook will ask you if you want to hide your ex from sight.

You will also have the option of “seeing less” of the other person, while there will be further options on your own privacy settings so that you can restrict them from viewing new posts on your timeline.

Facebook have dubbed the new options as “Improving the Experience When Relationships End” and we’ve a feeling it’s going to be pretty popular.
